You do not have to wash your hands before putting on gloves, although I do. I have OCD. It's just force of habit. In this case, I would not say true or false because it really depends. There's no rule that says you have to wash your hands before putting on gloves. Although, doctors will meticulously wash their hands before they put on gloves before surgery, even if they are putting on gloves, to make sure no germs travel through the plastic on their behalf and infect the patient internally. But relating to normal checkups, they do not wash their hands before putting on gloves, they just put them on.

The information provided by the mentioned fragment, taking into account the meaning and the place in which it could be mentioned, is: this is the audience.

How can you identify the Meaning of the Sentence?

To identify the meaning of the sentence in the given fragment, it is first necessary to recognize in what type of event it could be mentioned, giving rise to those places in which formal presentations or shows are made.

In the events mentioned above, the presenter usually begins by mentioning words like "ladies and gentlemen," making a direct reference from the beginning to the accompanying audience.

In other cases, when there are dignitaries, recognized or famous people from some area, they are granted the privilege of being called individually by their name or position, as is the case of the appointment in which the president, his wife, Congress and an ambassador.
