Economically, the communism is propagating command economy, which is an economy totally owned and controlled by the government, and it has the purpose to make the country a self-sustaining one. During the 20th century there were numerous examples of countries with this system, and there are several in the present as well, but is seems that is not a system that works properly, and it has caused damage to every possible level.
