Answer:

With respect to the quality dimensions of manufactured products, durability refer(s) to the amount of use one gets from a product before it physically deteriorates or until replacement is preferable.

Explanation:

Performance, features, reliability, conformance, durability, serviceability, aesthetics, and perceived quality are eight dimensions or categories of quality that can serve as framework for strategic analysis.

In terms of quality dimension of goods and services, durability is referred to the amount of use one gets from a product before it physically deteriorates or until replacement is preferable.

The concept of durability is further defined as the amount of use one gets from a product before it breaks down and replacement is preferable to continued repair.

Answer:

a.

Dr Cash 2,025,000

Cr Common stock 180,000

Cr Preferred stock 270,000

Cr Additional paid-in capital - common stock 1,080,000

Cr Additional paid-in capital - preferred stock 495,000

( to record the issuance of common stock and preferred stock)

Dr Treasury stock 46,000

Cr Cash 46,000

(to record repurchased of 2,000 common shares at $23 per share)

b.

Dr Cash 42,000

Cr Treasury stock 34,500

Cr Additional paid-in capital ( Treasury stock) 7,500

( to record 1,500 common stock sold at $28 per share)

c.

Dr Cash 10,000

Dr Additional paid-in capital ( Treasury stock) 1,500

Cr Treasury stock 11,500

( to record 500 common stock sold at $20 per share)

Explanation:

a.

*Issuance:

Cash receipt = Common stock unit price x number of common stock issued + Preferred stock unit price x number of preferred stock issued = 2,025,000

Common stock account and preferred stock account will be recorded as par value x number of stock issued. Thus: Common stock account = 60,000 x 3 = 180,000; Preferred sock account = 9,000 x 30 = $270,000

Additional paid-in capital common stock account balance and Additional paid-in capital preferred stock account balance each is equal to the difference between unit sell price and par value times number of stock issued. Thus: Common stock account = 60,000 x 18 = 1,080,000; Preferred sock account = 9,000 x 55 = $495,000.

* Repurchased:

Cash spent on repurchased = no of repurchased x repurchased unit price = 2,000 x 23 = $46,000

b.

Cash receipt ( Debit) = no of common stock sold x unit selling price = 1,500 x 28 = $42,000

Treasury stock will be credited at the amount equal : repurchased price x no of common stock sold = 23 x 1,500 = $34,500

The difference will be credited into Additional paid-in capital ( Treasury stock) $7,500

c.

Cash receipt ( Debit) = no of common stock sold x unit selling price = 500 x 20 = $10,000

Treasury stock will be credited at the amount equal : repurchased price x no of common stock sold = 23 x 500 = $11,500

The difference will be debited into Additional paid-in capital ( Treasury stock) $1,500.

Answer:

NetonBe

The standard deviation in demand for each of these three generic sweaters is:

a) Approximately 600

Explanation:

a) Data and Calculations:

Different sweater color & size combinations in the end = 18

Normally distributed demand mean of size = 1,000

Total demand of sizes = 18,000

Standard deviation of each size = 100

Standard deviation = 10% of mean (100/1,000 * 100)

Standard deviation for the total sizes = 1,800 (18,000 * 10%)

Average demand of new three sizes = 6,000

Total demand for the three new sizes = 18,000 (6,000 * 3)

Therefore, the standard deviation in demand for each of these three generic sweaters will be = 600 (6,000 * 10%)

Analyse safety management as a science?
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

Persistent endeavors have been made to promote construction safety, but fatalities still plague the industry. Recently there had been an emergence of a variety of Construction safety research focusing on topics such as safety competency, accident statistics, design for safety, and safety culture. A large number of construction safety studies with the variety of topics make it difficult for stakeholders to have an overview of this field. Hence a systematic review of previous studies is paramount for facilitating sharing useful research findings and accessing future trends in construction safety research. A five-step framework was proposed in this review. The analysis focused on publication year, journal title, country/region distribution, organizational level, project phase, project type, innovative technology application and research topic. Three groups of construction safety research were identified. The first group of research is conducted from the perspective of safety management process, such as safety assessment and safety program. The second group aims to explore the impact of individual and group characteristics in relation to construction safety, such as worker behavior, perception, and safety climate. The third group utilizes accident/incident data to improve safety performance. In order to better capture construction safety research trend, these studies were discussed from chronological and thematic perspectives. Four main research findings including construction safety research perspectives, construction safety research trends, innovative technology applications in construction safety, and safety information flow, were gained. Finally, this review identified and discussed research gaps and corresponding agenda which can serve as guidance for future construction safety research.
