The role of conference committees in the legislative process is to resolve the differences between House and Senate versions of a bill.

Further Explanations:

“Conference Committee” is a joint Committee in the United States legislation that is structured to resolve the disagreement between the House of Representatives and the senate. The committee comprises a member of the standing committee from each of the House by drafting a compromise bill that has to be accepted by both the houses, which then is passed to the President for his consent.

The legislative body in the United States is called the United States legislature whose name varies with the state to state. In 25 states the legislature is known as the State Legislature and in 19 states, it is known as General Assembly, while in Massachusetts as well as in New Hampshire it is known as General Court. In North Dhaka and Oregon is known to Legislative Assembly.

Though the importance of the Conference committee had steadily declined due in recent eras only 3 conference reports were sent to congress in 2013, which was a very mere number that that were presented in previous years.
