Describe Rosenhan's initial study of social perception and attribution involving the mental hospital and the eight pseudopatient

Rosenhan himself and other eight pseudo patients who were mentally healthy claimed that they had auditory illusions and they were admitted in the hospital.

They were diagnosed that they were the patients of schizophrenia and they were debased. They were also diagnosed that they had manic depressive lunacy and they needed to be in a mental asylum. After the diagnosis, they claimed that they were fine and they desired to go out of the hospital.  

The impact of this diagnosis is that Rosenhan condemned the dependability of the psychiatric analysis. He uncovered the truth in the experiment rather than the methodology of the experiment.

In terms of symbolic nature of language, the words are arbitrary. It is because arbitrary means that it is a choice that is random or base on the person itself in which it represents words for words for each individual are all different and hold different meanings to how they say and show it.

</span>During this short-term period, our brain would process whether the information possess something necessary for us to remember or not. If not, the information would not be stored within the long-term memory. (the mechanism is very similar to computer's RAM)
