It takes 4.5 hours for Maxine to drive to her mother’s house

<u>Solution:</u>

Given that

Maxine is driving to her mother’s over Thanksgiving.

Distance Maxine needs to cover = 270 miles

Also given that she drives at a constant rate of 60 miles per hour, means

Need to determine the time she will take to reach her mom house

As constant rate is 60 miles per hour, this means

Time required to cover 60 miles = 1 hour

So time require to cover 1 mile =  \frac{1}{60} hours

\begin{array}{l}{=>\text { time require to cover } 270 \text { miles }=270 \times \text { time require to cover } 1 \text { mile }} \\\\ {=270 \times \frac{1}{60} \text { hours }} \\\\ {=\frac{270}{60} \text { hours }=4.5 \text { hours }}\end{array}

Hence time required by Maxine at constant speed of 60 miles per hour to reach her mother’s house is 4.5 hours.

Please show me the steps of to do this <br> DON"T GIVE ME THE ANSWER<br> ASAP
kherson [118]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

The number a . 10^{-2} is 8 times greater than b . 10^{-3}

thus, a . 10^{-2}  = 8b. 10^{-3}

multiply both sides by 10^{2}

we get a = 8b. 10^{-1} \\a = 0.8 b

if we take a = 2.5 and b = 3.1 we get 2.5/3.1 = 0.8

then B is the answer
