By Roosevelt and Taft both running it cost for the Democrats to split and have to decide between one, this meant that their votes were evenly split. While on the other side the candidates those were not split giving them an advantage, And winning them the most votes. So by Roosevelt running he lost the campaign for his party, And gave it to the other party practically

Answer:

Roosevelt's choice to confront Taft for the Republican designation in the year 1912 was generally troublesome. Safeguards of Roosevelt demand that Taft double-crossed the dynamic stage. At the point when Roosevelt came back to the United States, he was forced by a great many progressives to lead them afresh. Roosevelt accepted that he could complete superior employment by uniting the party than Taft. He held an obligation to the American individuals to run.

Hope this helps!!!
