Answer:

Median nerve is likely involved in her problem.

Martha likely has carpal tunnel syndrome. This syndrome is a result of the median nerve being compressed by the flexor retinaculum due to overuse. The compression of the nerve causes weakness in the muscles supplied by the median nerve and sensory deficits in the parts of the skin that it innervates.

Answer:

The condition could be carpal tunnel syndrome, and the nerve involved is the middle nerve. The carpal tunnel is a space located between the fibrous band and the bones in the wrist. The middle nerve passes through the tunnel and is responsible for the sensitivity of the thumb, index and middle fingers of the hand. Due to this condition you will feel a numbness in this area where the middle nerve passes. The stress caused in this area leads to inflammation of the tendons (numbness). The treatment for this condition is the cutting of the flexor retinaculum to release pressure on the median nerve.
