Read the excerpt from "The Crab That Played with the Sea.” Now, while the two were talking together, Pau Amma the Crab, who was

next in the game, scuttled off sideways and stepped into the sea, saying to himself, ‘I will play my play alone in the deep waters, and I will never be obedient to this son of Adam.’ Nobody saw him go away except the little girl-daughter where she leaned on the Man’s shoulder. And the play went on till there were no more Animals left without orders, and the Eldest Magician wiped the fine dust off his hands and walked about the world to see how the Animals were playing.
Which conclusion about Pau Amma does this excerpt support?
He likes swimming.
He is afraid of humans.
He thinks he is better than other animals.

Answer:

Option C. The excerpt supports the conclusion that Pau Amma the crab thinks he is better than other animals.

Explanation:

In the excerpt, as in the rest of the story, the character of Pau Amma the crab is depicted as an animal that does not want to follow neither what the rest of the animals are doing or what the man orders him to do. When all the animals are playing the game the magician told them to play, Pau Amma gets impatient and decides to get into the sea by himself, and to separate from the group. This is used to show how the crab thinks he is better than the rest, more important and in power control of the situation.

What is Ben Franklin’s idea about Dr. Mesmer’s force?
Alja [10]

D. (This time I'm certain)

Explanation:

Mesmer began to believe that he could transfer some of his personal surplus of magnetic fluid into inanimate objects by touching them. He would magnetize patients' clothes and beds so they could receive the healing fluid every hour of the day.

Also Ben Franklin didn't believe in it.

Share a time when you have sacrificed something to resolve a conflict
juin [17]
I'm not sure if this counts, but I've definitely gave in to eating at a restaurant that I didnt want to go in order to make my wife happy. Or another example is that if I told my friends that I would go hang out with them just to make them happy. Hope this helped give some examples.
