The United States and Soviet Union were involved in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

These two are examples of proxy wars. This meant that the US and Soviet Union were involved in the fighting but did not directly fight against each other. The US aided the democratic countries of South Korea and South Vietnam, while the Soviet Union helped the communist North Korea and North Vietnam.
