To be able to calculate the problem above, we need to set up equations. We let,

D = Dominic weight
R = Ralph weight
P = Peter weight

We have three unknowns so we should set up three equations. We do as follows:

D = 0.5R
P = 3D
D+R+P = 720

Solving simultaneously we obtain,

D = 120
R = 240
P = 360

Therefore, Dominic weighs 120 mass units.

Reptile [31]

Answer:

To the nearest tenth

Percentage= 5.9%

Step-by-step explanation:

In 1995, Germany produced 4.719 million computers.

In that same year, the total computer production of the whole world was 80 million.

The percentage of the world production contributed by Germany

=Number produced by Germany/Number produced by the whole world * 100

The percentage of the world production contributed by Germany

=( 4.719/80)*100

The percentage of the world production contributed by Germany

=5.89875%

To the nearest tenth

= 5.9%

[Right Triangles Only] Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²

  • a is a leg
  • b is another leg
  • c is the hypotenuse

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Identify

a = 12

b = 5

c = x

Step 2: Solve for x

  1. Substitute in variables [PT]:                                                                           12² + 5² = x²
  2. Evaluate exponents:                                                                                      144 + 25 = x²
  3. Add:                                                                                                                 169 = x²
  4. [Equality] Square root both sides:                                                                 ±13 = x
  5. Rewrite:                                                                                                           x = ±13

Since we are dealing with positive numbers, we can disregard the negative root.

∴ x = 13

Vladimir [108]

Answer:

(D) xy/(x + y)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find r in terms of x and y

Given,

  • two resistors with resistances x and y are connected in parallel
  • r is the combined resistance of these two resistors
  • the reciprocal of r is equal to the sum of the reciprocals of x and y

Then,

1/r = 1/x + 1/y

1/r = (y + x)/xy

Find the reciprocal of both sides

r = xy/(x + y)

The right answer is option (D)  xy/(x + y)
