. Compare and contrast the effects of European colonization on East Africa versus Central and South Africa.
bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

The European colonization on East Africa and Central and South Africa differ for several reasons.

Explanation:

In the mid-1800s Europe powers indulged in imperialism and started colonizing for economic, political, and social. Some of its countries were Portugal, Britain, France, Germany, and Italy. All this led military invasions, conquest and colonization in Africa.

Most of the region in East Africa came under British control, including Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanganyika, and Uganda. The reason for it in the East was the industrialization which required raw materials.

The colonization in South Africa was to trade slaves in Europe and America. Another reason was to built forts along the coastline of Africa and trade.

Nevada became the 36th state on October 31, 1864, after telegraphing the Constitution of Nevada to the Congress days before the November 8 presidential election (the largest and costliest transmission ever by telegraph). Statehood was rushed to help ensure three electoral votes for Abraham Lincoln's reelection and add to the Republican congressional majorities.[1]

Nevada's harsh but rich environment shaped its history and culture. Before 1858 small Mormon settlements along the border of Utah sustained their communities through faith, but the secular western section stumbled along until the great silver strikes beginning in 1858 created boom towns and fabulous fortunes. After the beginning of the 20th century, profits declined while Progressive reformers sought to curb rampaging capitalism and its attendant miseries. They imagined a civilized Nevada of universities, lofty idealism, and social reform. But an economic bust during the 1910s and disillusionment from failures at social reform and a population decline of nearly one-fourth meant that by 1920 Nevada had degenerated into a "beautiful desert of buried hopes."[2] The boom returned when big time gambling arrived in 1931, and with good transportation (especially to California metropolitan areas), the nation's easiest divorce laws, and a speculative get-rich-quick spirit, Nevada had a boom-and-bust economy that was mostly boom until the worldwide financial crisis of 2008 revealed extravagant speculation in housing and casinos on an epic scale

How did the Constitution of 1787 attempt to resolve the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation?
Julli [10]

Answer:

In order to solve the weaknesses, the constitution of 1787 provide additional power to the central government, such as the power to tax ,regulate commerce, and creates separation of power.

Explanation:

The articles of confederation was made on the assumption that the states will willingly cooperated with the federal government 's plan, But that's not the case when it is actually being implemented.

Without the power to Tax and control commerce, it is extremely difficult for our country to set up the proper budgeting plan for our national programs. In some ways, This make the states become more powerful than the federal government.

Because of this, constitution of 1787 was created to address those problem, granting the federal government to tax and regulate commerce. This make the federal government become more powerful than the states in term of influencing national economy.

But, this also come with a weakness. This make the federal government has the risk to become too powerful and turn into tyranny. This is why the constitution also address the separation of the government into several branches. Each branches will limit each other's influence and prevent the government from becoming too powerful.
