The thesis for anything persuasive is fairly is as you take a stance one way or the other. Then give at least three examples why you chose that stance from the research you have done. For example, a good thesis statement would be, “Citizens should protest laws that are unfair because they have a right to certain freedoms, their own opinions, and speaking against others.”  The rest of the speech would explain these three ideas, include examples of how others would argue your stance, and include the examples of Thoreau’s ideas.
