To find the answer,we can use the two-point formula:
(y1 - y2) = m(x1 - x2)
Where m is the slope.

To find y,we have to first find the slope,then insert either of the coordinates into the equation.

The formula of the slope:

\frac{y1 - y2}{x1 - x2}

In this case:

\frac{6 - ( - 2)}{ - 4 - ( - 8)} \\ = \frac{6 + 2}{ - 4 + 8} \\ \frac{8}{4} \\ = 2

We can then put (-4,6) into the equation:

6-y = 2[x-(-4)]
-y = 2x+4(2)-6
-y = 2x+2
y = -(2x+2)
y = -2x-2

Therefore the answer is -2x-2.

Hope it helps!

Which set of ordered pairs represents a function?
frosja888 [35]

The correct is:

[(-9,3),\:(-5,1),\:(7,-5),\:(4,3)]

The definition of a function is that for every value of x we get one from y.

In the first appears (-6,1) y (-6,-7), it is not a function, since it does not meet the definition given above, there can only be one value for x, if there are 2 or more, called relation.

In 2 repeat: (7,-6) and (7,0)

In 3 repeat: (1,-3) and (1,0)

<h3>What is a graph?</h3>

A graph is a way to represent a lot of data in such a visual format that it is easy for the user to understand the complete information in one go. Usually, the line of the graph is a function that follows the graph.

For the given graph of the function f(x) = –x² – 4x + 5, the domain of the function is all the real numbers, while the range of the function is all real numbers less than or equal to 9.

Hence, the correct option is D.
