There was constant threat from Ottoman Empire which was based on Muslim religion d. Europe had suffered a very long grueling war because of Napoleon Above conditions made sure people to settle even harder into their christian roots and become more conservative and modest. Because of this conservativeness, writing about romantic things was looked down upon. Romantic literary circle in the early 19th century was lewd. Papers was a rare commodidty and writing romantic literary circles in a time of Napolean war period was considered incredibly unpatriotic</span>
