President Lyndon B. Johnson's speech seemed to exaggerate the United States intervention in Vietnam. In his speech, he addresses that U.S aimed to build a Democratic republic in south Vietnam instead of a communist Vietnam. He was criticized that it has overburdening the U.S resources for a cause at a distant land. they questioned the anti-communist policy of the government, forced on South Vietnam.
