An epic simile is basically a regular simile, but it takes place over the course of several lines in poetry. There is no evidence in the excerpt provided that the correct answer could be a simile, so we’ll rule that option out.

The phrase starting in medias generally means that it’s a somewhat introduction. It can often introduce the story in the beginning, or be a great start if you want to start your story with a flashback. I’d say this is a good answer for the question, but just in case there’s a better one let’s go over the other options as well.

To invoke the muse would be to get inspiration for whatever it is you’re going to start doing. For example, let’s say you’re writing a story, and you have no ‘muse.’ Here you’d ‘pray to the muse gods’ to give you muse, or in another word, inspiration. This is clearly not the answer because the passage is not invoking any muse. They clearly already know which direction they’re taking with the story.

And finally, the use of epithets would be to specifically describing something and/ or someone. Sure, this passage caries descriptive detail, but that’s not its primary focus.

In conclusion, the correct answer to this question is b ) starting in medias res.

Use your journal to sketch out a story that you could set in the Klondike Gold Rush. Describe a possible main character, a theme
Kitty [74]

Answer:

Hey! I'll try to help you as much as I possibly can.

A possible Main Character: (please Please PLEASE keep in mind that this is fiction)

Katherine: A Young girl of 16 trying to find her father who rushed off to the Klondlike Goldrush. Her father has not been writing anymore letters. or answering them for that matter. So Katherine thinks it's up to her to bring her father home.

Theme: Family, Friendship, Love, and Perseverance.

Event for Family: Obviously, this event will include her father. You could have someone offer Katherine a lot of money in exchange for her father (people did that back in the day, which is pretty sad) But Katherine says "No." and that shows that family is important.

Event for Perseverance: You could have Katherine go through many different trials and bumps along the way to finding  her father. She could almost drown, get killed by a bear, and have trouble hiking up a mountain.

Event for Love: Many great stories have romance in them. Try giving Katherine a smart, handsome young man named Peter. Who helps her find her father and (perhaps) gets married to her in the end.

Event for friendship: Have Katherine make many friends along the way. It doesn't matter who they are, but make sure to let her expierience friendship.

I truly hope I have helped! :)

Read the excerpt from act 3, scene 2, of Julius Caesar.
Effectus [21]

Answer:

The mistakes men make are remembered after their deaths, but their good deads more often die with them.

If Caesar was power-hungry, it was a serious flaw, and he paid seriously for it.

Explanation:

Antony who was unhappy at the death of Ceasar and who swore to avenge his death, in the speech above, remarked that the accusations made by Brutus and others against Caesar did not take into account his good deeds while alive. Thus, he implied that people tend to forget the good deeds of others when they die but only recall their bad deeds. He also showed through this statement that if the accusations about Caesar being ambitious were actually true, he paid dearly for it given the way he died.
