The so-called war to end all wars, the First World War, did not solve any of the problems which had caused it. So, some years later started another world war.

The Second World War was the largest and the most violent armed conflict that opposed, between 1939 and 1945, the Allied countries with a democratic ideology countenance to the Axis coalition with a totalitarian character.
In the beginning of the war, the first block consisted of the United Kingdom (with the British Empire), France (with the French Empire) and Poland. But, with the war continuation, more countries joined to that block, such as the United States of America, China and the Soviet Union.
The war was started by Germany, but later was joined by Italy, Japan, Hungary and Romania, making the Axis Powers block. However, in the beginning of the war until its invasion by Germany, the Soviet Union also belonged to the Axis.

The main causes of the conflict are related to the agreements made after the First World War, the policy of appeasement, which was directed by the United Kingdom and France after the First World War and the expansionism of Germany and Japan.

After the Versailles Treaty, Hitler and the Nazis assumed control of Germany by calling for a heroic mass effort to restore past glory allied to the humiliating situation that treaty had put Germany and its people. After the First World War, the German economy was too bad also due to the war fines that were imposed by the victorious nations and also due to the Great Depression.

As referred, the appeasement policy was one of the major causes for the war. The British and French politicians followed a policy that gave Hitler the conditions to reinforce his position within European countries, but also gave the Germans time to rearm, being able to reoccupy Rhineland and after that launch the Blitzkrieg (Lightning War) against major part of Europe.

In Asia, Japan's efforts to become a world power and the rise of militarist leadership (in the 1930s, the government in Japan was undermined as militarists rose to power and gained de facto totalitarian control) led to conflicts first with China and later the United States of America. Japan also sought to secure additional natural resources, such as oil and iron ore, due in part to the lack of natural resources on Japan's own home islands.

This is quite a trick question indeed. Isaac Stevens had been appointed as Governor of the Washington Territory by President Franklin Pierce. He was also named Superintendent of Indian Affairs and was thus directly in charge of any official dealings with Native American tribes.

He did force several tribes to sign treaties with the federal government to cede their lands to it. Although he acted autocratically and in a very authoritarian manner, he did it in the capacity of the positions described above and as a representative of the territorial government has was its representative therefore the correct answer is “The territorial government” as he did not act this way out of a private initiative.

What were 2 major events that led to increased tensions between Great Britain and the colonies?

First of all, (just to clear this up) the conflict and tension between GB and the colonies was a lot more complex than 2 events. The ones I will name here are important, but take them more as a symbol of the breaking ties of GB and the colonies than the only 2 things that led to the American Revolution (aka take this answer with a grain of salt, it is too simple to be complete).
1) The Sugar Acts/Stamp Acts/Townsend Acts (1763-66): Following the French and Indian war (also known as the 7 years war) Britain had huge amounts of debt from fighting overseas. Many British were outraged that they had to pay the tax alone, because they believed the colonists were responsible for the war. So the British government did what it thought was right and taxed the colonists through 3 direct taxes. These taxes (named above) taxed sugar, paper goods, tea, paper, paint, some metals, and a variety of other things. Colonists were outraged that they were being directly taxed without representation in the British Government and rebelled by boycotting goods, and harming tax collectors, but one especially good example was the Boston tea party, in which Colonists dumped entire cases of British tea into the Boston Harbor to rebel against taxes.
2) Intolerable acts: As a result of the Boston Tea Party, Britain created a series of laws aimed at punishing the colonies for their rebellious behaviour. These were known as the Intolerable acts by colonists and included such things as closing down the Boston Harbor and requiring that the dumped tea be paid for. This was the last straw for many radical colonists, as they believed that their basic rights had been clearly infringed. These radicals used ideas from the Enlightenment to justify trying to sever ties with Great Britain.

The Adams administration faced several severe tests. It was a mixed administration. Adams was a Federalist. Jefferson, the vice-president, was a Democratic-Republican. Federalists were increasingly divided between CONSERVATIVES such as Hamilton and MODERATES such as Adams who still saw himself as above party politics. Hamilton opposed Adams as the Federalist candidate. Beyond these considerable problems in his own party, Adams also faced a major international crisis. The French were outraged by what they viewed as an ANGLO-AMERICAN ALLIANCE in Jay's Treaty. France suspended diplomatic relations with the U.S. at the end of 1796 and seized more than 300 American ships over the next two years.
