The answer is - the coastal regions and Peary Land.

The coastal regions are not covered in ice because of the influence of the sea. Peary Land is and island that is largely influenced by the sea, it has not been covered in ice even through the last glacial period and that trend continues today as well.

andrey2020 [161]

To date, the majority of neandertal fossils have been found in Europe and western Asia.

There may have been little direct contact between neanderthals and modern humans over thousands of years. They might have contributed to the Neanderthals' impending extinction by preventing them from going back to the areas they liked best.

Around 40,000 years ago, all traces of Neanderthals vanished. The most recent Neanderthal fossils have been found at a few isolated locations in western Europe and the Near East, which was probably the last known location for this early human species.
