<u>New England </u>
Religion-Puritanism.
Society- Family centered. Did not tolerate dissenters. Quite religious compared to the other colonies. 
Politics- Theocracy. Town meetings. 
Economy- Fishing, shipbuilding, lumber, 


<u>Mid-Atlantic</u>
Religion- More religious freedom, especially in Pennsylvania. (Quakers, Catholics, Protestants, etc.)
Economy- Growing wheat (breadbasket)

<u>Southern </u>
Religion- Mostly Anglicans and Baptists. Maryland was formed to provide religious tolerance to Catholics. (Toleration Act of 1649. However, people like atheists and Jews would be decreed death). 
Society- Slavery. Large plantations. Most people were small farmers. 
Politics- Large plantation owners dominated colonial legislatures. Had strong ties to Great Britain (sold their crops to them).
Economy- Largely agricultural based. Grew cash crops like tobacco
