Literacy tests, grandfather clauses, and poll taxes

were enacted by the Southern States to restrict the voting rights of African Americans. (2)

Further Explanations:

The flourishing economy of the United States attracted many refugees. The immigrant arrived in the United States either in search of religious independence or in search of employment. This sudden wave of numerous immigrants created havoc in the nation and led to the rise of slavery as immigrants were willingly accepting the slavery. This worsened the condition of the slaves. The situation remained the same until the Civil war era when initiatives were taken to put end to slavery.

Voting Right act of United States in the Federal legislation implemented by President Lyndon B. Johnson during the civil rights movement is one of the initiatives to provide equal status to the Black Americans. The act laid importance on the ban of racial prejudice during voting. The act guaranteed by the Fourteenth and 15th Amendments of the constitution of the United States gave Blacks.

Poll tax, Literacy tax, and grandfather clauses were some laws that were still limiting the voting authority of the blacks and were also preventing them to enjoy free privileges.

The correct answer is (2)

Literacy tests - Quite a big number of blacks and whites were illiterate . White officials however claimed that illiterate whites could understand what was being read to them and thus were justified to vote, whereas illiterate blacks, so the claim went, could not understand what was being read to them and so were barred from voting.

Grandfather clause - this clause said even though illiterate ad without property, one could still vote if their grandfather voted before 1867. No blacks could vote before 1867 and so the rule worked only for whites.

Poll tax - with a poll tax equivalent to between $25 to $50 in today's money no black could afford it and so they were automatically excluded from voting.

UNO [17]

. After being elected as the thirty-second president of the United States in 1932, he used his new home at Warm Springs, "The Little White House," as a retreat from the rigors of leading a nation through the Great Depression. He died there in 1945. To a generation of west Georgians, he was both the president and a trusted friend who could be seen waving as he passed by in his convertible or rode by in a train on his way to the nation's capital.

The First Americans A once connected Siberia and Alaska.
NeX [460]

Tens of thousands of years ago, the first Americans crossed a historic land link that connected Siberia in Russia to Alaska.

Native Americans, Canadian First Nations, and Alaska Natives are all considered to be Indigenous Americans. For many years, archaeologists believed that the Clovis people, who are believed to have arrived in the New World some 13,000 years ago from northern Asia, were the first Americans. However, recent archeological discoveries have shown that humans arrived in the Americas thousands of years earlier. These findings have caused people to reevaluate these explorers' origins, dates of arrival, and routes into the New World, along with genetic and geological insights.

The first Americans and their offspring were resourceful explorers who populated the largest area of land ever inhabited by mankind. They braved the unknown and expertly adapted to a huge variety of environments on two continents.
