A large number of scores written for the movies around the '30s and '40s were by European composers who were running away from persecution in their home nations. Example of these was Max Steiner in Gone with the Wind(1939) and King Kong(1933). Leopold Stokowski (1940) with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Many of the orchestral scores for movies from the 1930s and 1940s were written by European composers.

Explanation:

The movies in 1930s and 1940s had special inclination towards music. The artists that ran away from Europe and particularly from France to save themselves from persecution reached the United States.

They got opportunities to showcase their talents in United States and eventually grew to become big non-American composers in the American film industry.

dlinn [17]
Some simpler pleasures of the 1930’s included many things. One example is the fact that jazz was popular during this time. Many people listened to it on their radio. Board games like Monopoly and Scrabble came out in the 30’s so people enjoyed these games for entertainment too. Some simpler pleasures in today’s world are the devices we use on a daily basis. Social media keeps us occupied quite often and the good thing about that is that it comes straight from a small screen.
