Answer:

\text{Length of AB is }\frac{ah}{a+h}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given △KMN, ABCD is a square where KN=a, MP⊥KN, MP=h.

we have to find the length of AB.

Let the side of square i.e AB is x units.

As ADCB is a square ⇒ ∠CDN=90°⇒∠CDP=90°

⇒ CP||MP||AB

In ΔMNP and ΔCND

∠NCD=∠NMP     (∵ corresponding angles)

∠NDC=∠NPM     (∵ corresponding angles)

By AA similarity rule,  ΔMNP~ΔCND

Also, ΔKAP~ΔKPM by similarity rule as above.

Hence, corresponding sides are in proportion

\frac{ND}{NP}=\frac{CD}{MP} \thinspace\thinspace and\thinspace\thinspace \frac{KA}{KP}=\frac{AB}{PM} \\\\\frac{ND}{NP}=\frac{x}{h} \thinspace\thinspace and\thinspace\thinspace \frac{KA}{KP}=\frac{x}{h}\\\\\frac{NP}{ND}=\frac{h}{x} \thinspace\thinspace and\thinspace\thinspace \frac{KP}{KA}=\frac{h}{x}\\\\\frac{PD}{ND}=\frac{h}{x}-1 \thinspace\thinspace and\thinspace\thinspace \frac{AP}{KA}=\frac{h}{x}-1\\

KA(\frac{h}{x}-1)=AP

ND(\frac{h}{x}-1)=PD

Adding above two, we get

(KA+ND)(\frac{h}{x}-1)=(AP+PD)

⇒ (KN-AD)=\frac{x}{(\frac{h}{x}-1)}

⇒ a-x=\frac{x}{(\frac{h}{x}-1)}

⇒ a-x=\frac{x^2}{h-x}

⇒ x^2=ah-ax-xh+x^2

⇒ x(h+a)=ah

⇒ x=\frac{ah}{a+h}

Artist 52 [7]
The answer is B.

Negative numbers are to the far left if you were using a number line, so -1 to the 3rd power is -1. Everything else is positive. 1/4 is the same as 0.25 which is less than positive 1, positive 8.8 is next and the last would be -5 to the 2nd power which is 25.

A circle is to be cut from a 12 ft square board. What will be the area, in square feet, of the inscribed circle? Leave your answ
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

3π sq.feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the square = L²

L is the length of the square

Given

Area of the square = 12 ft square

12 = L²

L = √12

L = 2√3 feet

Since the circle is inscribed in the square, the length of the square will be the diameter of the circle;

Area of the circle = πd²/4

Area of the circle = π(2√3)²/4

Area of the circle  = 12π/4

Area of the circle = 3π sq.feet
