In the excerpt from "The Dark Game: True Spy Stories from Invisible Ink to CIA Moles", by Paul B. Janeczko, the sentence that best states the controlling idea of the passage is Caution and precision enabled Wyke's cable-tapping success.

The narrator describes all the troubles that Wyke faced to reach the cables. Then he states that "...the work called for a deft hand...", and that Wyke was "... the "SIS's phone tapping agent." There is a description o how careful was Wyke with his work and how skillful he was.

8 sentences to why it is important to get your high school diploma.
Natasha_Volkova [10]
Getting your high school diploma is very important for several reasons. First of all, it is relevant career-wise: without a diploma, there aren't many jobs that you can apply for and actually get. Nowadays, employers don't only look at the skills you have to perform a particular job, but also whether or not you own a particular diploma. If you don't, chances are you won't get that desired job as many better jobs now require you to have specific knowledges which can only be attained if you have a diploma. Other than that, there is a stigma nowadays that if you are a high school dropout and don't have a diploma to prove your knowledge, you might be considered of lesser value than those who own a diploma. So it is easier to actually finish high school and get a diploma than to be an outcast in a society which values achievements more than anything else.

In the story treasure in the attic what is the theme
Sedaia [141]

When it comes to spring cleaning, it’s always nice to have a spare hand to help. Finding a real human hand is probably not what the Lopezes had in mind, but that’s exactly what this family from Florida found in their grandparents’ attic. Cleaning the dreaded attic turned up a darling wedding photo of the Lopezes grandparents, but it also uncovered some interesting but creepy finds.

Mike Lopez said his sister was not expecting to find a human hand, a treasure map, and gold coins. He spoke to local TV news network WFLA about the discovery, and the story kept getting stranger. The items found by his sister were neatly packed inside a wooden box. To add more to the story, the treasure map contained the name of the infamous mythical pirate “Gaspar”.
