Rewrite the following sentence correctly using colons and/or semicolons.

English
1 answer:
Readme [11.4K]3 years ago

Answer: Colon

Explanation:

As Hamlet so aptly advised: "To thine own self be true."

  • A Colon is the punctuation mark that is used to direct you to the information. Colon is usually giving the silent impression of ''Which is'' ''As follows'' ''Thus'' ''Which are'' and more. In this case, we can see that colon is more appropriate than semicolon which presents the pause and it is usually used between two independent clauses.

A colon is the punctuation mark with two parallel dots and it can be easily recognized in a sentence.

What would you say is the principal reason for daisy’s appeal to gatsby?
Ronch [10]
Gatsby was or rather is, in love with Daisy. 'He looked at her the way all girls want to be looked at". In the beginning, they were in love, but then Gatsby went off to war and never returned or return in time, rather.  Daisy almost didn't marry Tom due to a letter she received from Gatsby the day of her wedding. You can tell she loved Gatsby just from the fact that she basically lost it hours before her wedding. But then daisy did end up marrying tom, unfortunately.  Despite all of that, Gatsby would have done anything for Daisy. She's the reason he threw all of those crazy parties! Daisy loved Gatsby for everything, which, i think is pretty transparent.

N "The Bracelet," what is the effect of the author's use of the first-person point of view?
Korolek [52]
Even though the only option was A, I do believe that A is the correct option. While speaking in first person, the reader feels like it is them doing the interactions in the book. And that is what helps the reader to learn the names of the other characters in the book faster and understand the book in a clearer sense.
