The salinity can simple be defined as the amount of salt that is contained in the ocean waters.

The salinity of the ocean waters comes from the interaction of the chlorine and the sodium which are in abundance. With their interaction the salt is created, or chemically, the NaCl.

The salinity varies from place to place, and it is dependent on multiple factors, with the climate being the most important, backed by the income of freshwater from rivers and streams.

The hotter it is, the higher the salinity, because there's bigger evaporation and the salt concentrates more, and vice versa.

The waters that are near a coast, and there's a stream or a river that constantly bring in freshwater, are less saline, because the freshwater increases the amount of water on the amount of salt, thus it is much more dispersed.

Number of grams of Salt per Kg of water is the best description of measuring the salinity of ocean water

Further Explanation:

Salinity in simple term is known as the amount of salt when dissolved in the body of water is known be as the saline water and salinity is measured by number of quantity of salt in grams per kilogram of water. This phenomenon is behind determining many important factors of the chemistry and is related to the natural waters and the biological process which is there within it and it also is a factor which governs the physical characteristics. These physical characteristics are density and heat capacity.

During its measurement, there may be difficulties which can arise and that is because of the natural waters as there are mixture of various different elements. which are present in the molecular form.
