Cause and Effect graphic organizers allow the student to compare the before and after results from the event that happened. It also shows the student how different tactics and situations can help the after effect resulting in numerous outcomes.

ie.
Cause: I need money to pay my rent.
Effect: I will get a job.

A universal theme is an idea that can be shared with anybody, regardless of cultural differences. They are ways to connect to ideas to different people. The universal/main theme(s) of "The Odyssey" is that about a hero that is brave, hospitable, and loyal.
