If your ________ is destroyed, the left side of your brain could not control the movements of your right hand.
julsineya [31]

If your brainstem is destroyed, the left side of your brain could not control the movements of your right hand.

Brainstem- The brainstem is the region at the base of the brain that is located between the cervical spinal cord and the deep cerebral hemispheres. It plays a crucial role in controlling some involuntary bodily functions like breathing and heartbeat.

Spinal cord- A column of nerve fibers that extends from the skull base to the middle of the back. It has three thin membrane-like layers of protecting tissue covering it. The vertebrae encircle the spinal cord and its surrounding membranes (back bones).

Why will meiosis still increase genetic variation even if crossing over does no occur?
lutik1710 [3]
That's a really good question, I don't have the exactl answer but I will tell you my opinion , I think because each cell have diploid 2n number of chromosomes, this means each cell have 2 homologous chromosomes these chormosomes might have different alleles for the same trait, and by undergoing meiosis the number decrease to 1n hiploid so one chromosome of the two homologous one will disappear from the cell, this could lead to appearance of a recessive character to appear, I hope that this help although basically crossing over is the main reason for genetic variation in the cell so...

Answer:

The given blank can be filled with post.

Explanation:

A mechanism, which prevents the species from mating with others is termed as reproductive isolation. It is further differentiated into pre-zygotic and post-zygotic isolation. The phenomenon of prezygotic isolation inhibits the eggs to get fertilize, while the postzygotic isolation inhibits the generation of fertile offspring.

The mechanisms of prezygotic isolation comprise mating seasons, habitat isolation, gamete isolation, mechanical isolation, and behavioral isolation. On the other hand, postzygotic mechanisms comprise hybrid sterility, hybrid inviability, and hybrid breakdown. Thus, the given case is an example of post-zygotic isolation.

Which is a correct guideline of science?
vlada-n [284]
Option A cannot be true since a scientific hypothesis must be testable, otherwise it is not scientific.

Option C is incorrect as well as scientific knowledge DOES need peer review and verification before the results are accepted by the scientific community.

Option D is also false as science is always changing and adapting. What this means is that conclusions or understandings can be changed if new evidence surfaces that suggests otherwise.

Therefore, the only correct answer is B) Explanations are based on observations, evidence, and testing.

This is true as we cannot make statements or explanations in science without first conducting tests, making observations and gathering evidence to support our claims.
