Imagine you want to send a not to someone you´ve secretly admired for a long time. Which example will get your message across most clearly?
A.Im pretty sure if we met and hung out we might not be miserable.
B.I´d really like to get to know you better.
C.I´ve seen you across the room a lot during the past year.
D.I stuck up for you in a conversation the other day.

I think B would be the best answer, but i would execute it differently. I wouldn't just walk up to the guy/girl and say "I'd like to get to know you better". I mood has to be right. So for example, if its a girl and the two are talking, you might crack a joke have her giggle a bit, then say, "Hey, you know, I'd really like to get to know you better". That's how I'd execute it.
