If you would like to know how many gallons remain to be used, you can do this using the following steps:

lost: 2% of 280 gallons = 2% * 280 gallons = 2/100 * 280 = 5.6 gallons

280 gallons - 5.6 gallons = 274.4 gallons

The correct result would be 274.4 gallons.

2% lost.

Left = 100% - 2% = 98%

98% of 280

= 0.98*280

= 274.4

274.4 gallons remain to be used.

A share of stock in the Lofty Cheese Company is quoted at 25 1/4. Suppose you hold 30 shares of that stock, which you bought at
Marizza181 [45]
I don't know the options, but I can say this:

if you bought it at 20 1/4 and you sell them at 25 1/4 then your win pro stock is the difference between those two numbers, which is 5. (25 1/4-20 1/4 =5)

and if you sell all of them, your profit will be 30*5=150 dollars.

Answer: For part A, the formula for the employee's pay is Pay = hourly rate times hours . P = r × h The equation is P = 13h To find how many hours are required to earn a given amount, fill in given values and solve for the missing variable . 7800 = 13h h= 7800/13 600 hours needed.

For part B, the formula for this employee's pay is Pay = Bonus + hourly rate times hours . P = b + rh

330 = 90 + r(24)    330 - 90 = 24r .  240 = 24r    240/24 = r . r = 10

The employee's pay rate is $10 per hour.

A culture started with 5000 bacteria. after 7 hours, it grew to 6500 bacteria. predict how many bacteria will be present after 1
spin [16.1K]

6500=7x+5000

6500-5000=7x+5000-5000

1500=7x

1500/7≈214

x≈214

y=19·214+5000

y=9066

answer=9066 bacteria

In figure, what is the value of y?
Gelneren [198K]

First, find the value of x. Note that the angles x, 0.5x and 3x sum up to 4.5x, and that this sum has the value 180 degrees. Solving this equation for x, we get x = 40 degrees.

Now, 0.5x and 0.5y are vertical angles, and thus x = y.  So, with x being 40 degrees, y = 40 degrees.

Answer:

You have three card : 3, 4, and 5.

You first pick one card randomly, the probability of picking a 3 is:

P = 1/3

You then pick a second card without putting the first card back, the probability of picking a 5 is:

P = 1/2

=> The probability of picking a 3 and then picking a 5:

P = (1/3) x (1/2) = 1/6

Hope this helps!
