The two groups that fought the Boer War were the Dutch Afrikaners and the British.

The Boer Wars were two armed conflicts that took place in South Africa  between Great Britain and the two Boer (Afrikaner) republics—the South African Republic (Transvaal) and the Orange Free State—resulting in British victory  and the extinction of the two independent republics that the Boers had founded in the mid-nineteenth century. This war was fought from October 11, 1899, to May 31, 1902.
