According to a different source, this question refers to the story "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe.

In this story, one of the main purposes of the author is to create suspense. This is usually done by describing the events of a story in a way that creates nervousness and anticipation in the mind of the reader.

Poe does this in several ways in lines 103-115. In these lines, Poe describes the speaker of the story looking in on the old man while he sleeps. The scene is described in extreme detail. The pace is very slow. Moreover, the narrator contradicts himself, revealing himself to be unreliable. All of these devices contribute to a sense of nervousness and anxiety in the reader, and therefore, a sense of suspense.

performing breathtaking feats

of aquatic acrobatics for the sheer joy of it.

Does that sound like silly and foolish to you? It doesn't to me. That answer should never be considered. Not D

Where's the stubborn part? Do the dolphins sound stubborn? Not B either.

What about flexible and powerful? I think this is likely your second best answer. It would take power to get them out of the water and to be acrobatic you need to be flexible. I wouldn't pick this answer, but I understand those who would.

To me the answer if C. They sound like they are having a lot of fun. And they are treating what they are doing with a lot of glee and much joy. What the author says is that it is breathtaking. C is the only answer you could pick.

What is a key difference between a theme and a central idea?
MrRa [10]

Answer:

D. A central idea is often stated directly, while a theme is usually only suggested.

Explanation:

A theme is uncovered by portrayal or plot, while a central idea is uncovered by rhetoric or an immediate articulation.

A theme is the focal point of a content. It is made through the plot of the story, the characters and the setting of the story.

A central idea is the central matter that the story needs to pass on. It is normally uncovered legitimately, or by utilizing techniques for talk and influence. Stories are worked such that help the focal idea.
