I would say that montage does have a free will to do what he pleases besides his one secret. he has to hide his book from his cr

ew which they will burn, Montage has to also hide his books from Mildred (his wife) every while because she will find his books again and burn them one by one. Mildred later dies in the book from overdosing on sleeping pills. Montage doesn't obey the rules of his crew which is to burn the books, he doesn't follow this order because he believes that he can make the world a better place with literature. The reason why Guy Montage started to read these books was that he thinks he might see what's wrong with society. Montage finds himself very unhappy, as his curiosity began to grow with the books he believed that books provide acknowledgement and understanding “maybe the books can get us out of this cave”.
Montage does make his own decisions, the only people who more or less tell him what to do is his crew who wants him to burn every book he sees. This shows that Montage does make his own decision by keeping the books and hiding them from his crew. This book follows the exploits and self-examination of firemen guy Montag in a dystopian society where books are banned and firemen create fires rather than put them in order to protect the society from the supposed dangers of reading. The reason why they say the books “dangers” is because the government wanted to take control of their thought on the public. Some of the given reasons why the books are banned is because of offensive language and resentment over different levels of how smart you are.
Somewhere the saving and putting away had to begin again and someone had to do the saving and keeping, one way or another, in books, in records, in peoples heads, anyway at all so long as it was safe, free from moths, silverfish, rust, and dry rot and men with matches. melomori [17]

In "I know why the caged bird sings," marguerite’s reaction to oppression differ from the reaction of the caged bird as she refuses to speak to anyone.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is a 1969 autobiography describing the young and early years of American writer and poet Maya Angelou.

The poem describes the contrasting experiences between two birds: one bird can live in nature as it pleases, while the other caged bird suffers in captivity. The other bird sings to cope with the circumstances and to express his own desire for freedom.

Hence, the correct answer is Option D.
