It depends. Some changes depend on their characteristics, skinny, fat, etc. We usually add "ito" or "ita" at the end of the name.
Ex:
Pancho = Panchito (Male)
Cristana = Cristianita or Cristy (Female)

Us Mexican's normally use "wey" to friends.
Ex:
Olle! Que ondas wey! = Hey! How's it going man/ girl?

It honestly just all depends our relationship with the person, just like in the English language. If you don't like the person, why give them a nickname? If you love/ like the person, of course we're gonna give them a nickname.

Hope this helps!~

ser una lástima / río / estar contaminado Question 2 with 1 blanksorprender (yo) / haber / peces Question 3 with 1 blanka nosotr
lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

1. Es una lástima que el río esté contaminado.

2. Me sorprende que haya peces.

3. A nosotros nos gusta que los vecinos quieran conservar el río.

4. Mi compañero de cuarto teme que sea tarde.

5. Ojalá que el gobierno proteja más el medio ambiente en el futuro.

Explanation:

You must use  the subjunctive to construct the following sentences:

1. ser una lástima / río / estar contaminado

2. sorprender (yo) / haber / peces

3. a nosotros / gustar / los vecinos / querer / conservar / río

4. mi compañero de cuarto / temer / ser / tarde

5. ojalá / gobierno / proteger / más / medio ambiente / en el futuro

The present subjunctive is sometimes used as a form of imperative or in subordinate sentences after certain expressions that indicate a present or future action.

To form the present subjunctive of the regular verbs, we take as root the infinitive of the verb without the ending "-ar", "-er", or "-ir" and add the following disinsections:

-AR: -e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en

-ER / -IR: -a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an

The transaltion:

1. It is a pity that the river is polluted.

2. I am surprised that there are fish.

3. We like that the neighbors want to conserve the river.

4. My roommate fears it's late.

5. Hoepfully the government will protect the environment more in the future.
