History

The space race was between the Soviet Union and the United States. The end goal was walking on moon, which is something that the United States managed to do, even though the soviets beat them in all other parts of the race like having the first man in space and having the first space walk. There are still nowadays many people who believe that the moon landing was fake and that the Soviets were actually the winners.

The space race lasted a duration of years, so there is a lot of information that would be best explained in a novel. However, a site I found has a short synopsis (summary) of some of the achievements made during that time:
"Most Americans remember or have been taught that, during the Cold War, the Communist Soviet Union put the first satellite into space, but that it was the United States NASA program that put the first man on the moon. What most people fail to remember is that the Soviet Union was not only responsible for putting a satellite into orbit, but was the first to put a living animal in space, put the first man in orbit, achieved the first space walk, and put a multi-manned capsule in space. Unfortunately, the Soviet Union was also the first to endure the first human fatality of the space race. As both super powers scampered to sacrifice money and lives to this Cold War cause, the Soviet Union seemed to be leagues ahead of the United States."

McCarthyism in the 1950s is most closely associated with Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Explanation:

Joseph McCarthy was a key figure during the early years of the Cold War. He was one of the first American political figures, and easily the most vocal one, to publicly state that Communist sympathized had infiltrated the United States government.

His nation-wide fame brought about the term 'McCarthyism' a practice where any can be labelled as a traitor and communist without any evidence.

Why’s was the manga carta for the development of democracy
SpyIntel [72]

Tha Magna Carta signed by King John and the barons of England on the field of Runnymeade in 1215 is the landmark in the development of constitutional government.

Magna Carta, which means 'The Great Charter', is one of the most important documents in history as it established the principle that everyone is subject to the law, even the king, and guarantees the rights of individuals, the right to justice and the right to a fair trial

This evolution of the Magna Carta's feudal rights into constitutional rights of ordinary people took centuries, since many later English kings successfully ignored the charter. Only in the wake of the Glorious Revolution of 1688 did England succeed in establishing a durable constitutional monarchy with Parliament as the nation's supreme law-making body.
