The 16th Amendment matter as it helps the U.S government to raise finances for the social, economic and political welfare of America unitedly.

Explanation:

  1. According to the Amendment, Congress can levy income tax on all sources of income. There is also no need for the Congress to distribute it among the different states or base the tax on the demographic trend.
  2. This helped the government to get permanent funds without much ado. This led to ensure that America becomes of the strongest nation financially.
  3. This also helped with the removal of direct tax which had to be distributed among the various states.
  4. Although a permanent tax was levied, the American citizens did not feel burdened as the tax tariff matched to make the high cost of living bearable.
  5. The Federal Government had a steady revenue generation while the citizens lived comfortably.

Gothic was an insult used to say back in Dark Ages originating from the word 'goths', the tribe that played an important role in plunging the Roman Empire into Dark Ages. Goths are described as 'barbaric, rude, and unpolished' hence came the word 'gothic'.
