of her English. I believed that her English reflected the quality of what she had to say. That is, because she expressed them imperfectly her thoughts were imperfect. Answer:

The correct answer is D.

Explanation:

Tan explains that, when she was a child, she believed that her mother was not intelligent because of her poor use of English. She uses this experience to put emphasis in the fact that she was mistaken.

Now, as an adult, she understands that her mother is, indeed, very intelligent, and that the use of a language does not reflect a person's overall knowledge.

What was the purpose of the Agricultural Adjustment Act? to help farmers raise more crops to encourage greater livestock product
Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

The purpose of the Agricultural Adjustment Act was to raise depressed crop prices.

Explanation:

First of all, we have to get into context. The Agricultural Adjustment Act was created during the great depression. Because of two things, the first was that crop prices were at its lowest since a long while ago(the 1890s) then because farmers overproduce in order to get more money. But the effect was counterproductive, they actually drove the price lower. So, the solution for the government was to decrease the production of the crops. That way the government would control the influx of crops to the market and the prices could rise.

9. Which development was responsible for the success of Henry Ford during the early 1900s?
maw [93]

Answer:

a) the effectiveness of mass production.

Explanation:

Henry Ford was the first car producer (Ford Industries) to use the assembly line, which allowed certain groups of workers to work on specific parts of the car, while simultaneously transferring the component throughout the groups to create a full car at the end. This allowed Ford to create large amounts of cars in short amount of time, decreasing not only cost of production, but also the cost to buy the car, further making the car more popular with the people. This cycle allowed for cheap cars, which in turn made Ford rich.

Which strategy did Ida B. Wells use to initiate an anti-lynching law?
EleoNora [17]
Ida B Wells used a strategy we would today called "data journalism" in her anti-lynching campaign. She traveled through the south keeping records of all the lynchings that occured and the reasons for them. She then put this together in her book "A Red Record: Tabulated Statistics and Alleged Causes of Lynchings In the United States" establishing several arguments of how lynchings were used to control African Americans.

After the Civil War, the South had to reinvent its economy because
Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

plantations had been destroyed.

Explanation:

The American Civil War was also referred to as War between the States and it was fought from the 12th of April, 1861 to the 9th of April, 1865. The war was simply between the Southern states that seceded to form Confederate States and the Northern states that were still loyal to the Union.

Basically, eleven Southern states of the United States of America seceded from the Union between 1860 and 1861 while permitting slavery and plantations. These states include Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, Maryland, Kentucky, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, Florida, etc.

The 13th Amendment of 1865 was an amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America which formally abolished slavery and involuntary servitude except as a punishment for a crime committed by a convict within the jurisdiction.

Hence, the South had to reinvent its economy after the American Civil War because its plantations and slave camps had been destroyed.
