The answer is B: The emphasis on the role of government in people's lives implies that society has gone too far to ensure equality.

In this short story by Kurt Vonnegut, we are presented with a dystopian society in the year 2081. Through a fast narrative and the author´s characteristic absurdist humor, he dwells on a critical view of how society guarantees equality for everyone at the expense of outstanding citizens who are forced to use “handicaps” to make them “normal”, thus securing equality for everyone, even if what becomes “normal” is mediocre and sad.
