Answer:

A charter to start a colony was granted to the Virginia Company by King James I.

Explanation:

This charter from King James I was called The First Virginia Charter or the Charter of 1606, and it granted land rights to colonists with the purpose of expanding the Christian religion overseas. The group of people that was granted this document was called the Virginia Company (because of the settlement they had to start in the coastal area of Virginia), which was divided into the London Company and the Plymouth Company. These were run by businessmen who had the support of the crown (the king, in this case). However, the London Company had to pay for the costs of this project and look for the settlers.

Write a paragraph to compare and contrast the role of the legislative branch and the judicial branch of government. Be sure to d
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

The legislative branch is the principal law making body of the United States. A local version of this branch is like a city council. The judicial branch is the principal court of the United States, so a local version of that would be something like a city or county court. They are both part of two different systems. The legislative branch will be making regulations and laws while the judicial branch will be seeing if laws are constitutional and if what someone is doing is justified under the law. These are very different things, but they are tied together by the Constitution of the United States. The legislative branch creates laws that are constitutional to the best of their ability and the judicial branch interprets these laws and applies them to current cases.

President Theodore Roosevelt said that forests could be set aside at no expense in the D. West.

Which are had not suffered from excessive lumbering in the early 1900s?

President Theodore Roosevelt spoke of how forests in the Western United States were still in good condition because they had not been destroyed by timber companies.

This meant that preserving these forests could be done at little expense as there is no need to replant them. This was the opposite of conditions in the East where timber companies had destroyed a lot of forests.

Which of the following represents a common thread between the work of Copernicus, Kepler, and Newton? (5 points)
gregori [183]

The correct answer is b.) All three developed progressively more accurate models of our solar system.

Indeed, Copernicus proposed the heliocentric model, placing the Sun as the center of the universe and not Earth, in the 15th century. Kepler discovered the three scientific laws of planetary orbit around the Sun in the 17th century. Newton created the laws of universal gravitation and motion in the 17th century as well, basing a good deal of his research on Kepler’s work.
