Explanation:

In this poem by Carl Sandburg he speaks of wars between men, exemplified through famous war settings such as Waterloo and Austerlitz. The grass asks that we simply pile the bodies, no matter how many dead bodies that is, and let it do its job, which is to decompose them, to let them rot and disappear, without memories nor tombs, without honors or respect.
