Answer:

y=5

x=10 and

z=2

Step-by-step explanation:

since they are equivalance then,

for

triangle ABC and triangle DFE

AB=DF,BC=FE and AC= DE

So, AB=DF

8y-20= 4y

or, y=5

Then, BC= FE

2x+5=x+15

or, x=10

and

AC=DE

3z+9=10z-5

or, z= 2

hope u got ut.

The triangles are parallel thus their sides are equal to each other peer to peer.

So ;

x + 15 = 2x + 5

Subtract sides -5

x + 15 - 5 = 2x + 5 - 5

x + 10 = 2x

Subtract sides -x

x - x + 10 = 2x - x

x = 10

_________________________________

4y = 8y - 20

Subtract sides -8y

4y - 8y = 8y - 8y - 20

- 4y =  - 20

Negatives simplifies

4y = 20

Divided sides by 4

\frac{4}{4}y =  \frac{20}{4} \\

y = 5

_________________________________

10z - 5 = 3z + 9

Plus sides 5

10z - 5 + 5 = 3z + 9 + 5

10z = 3z + 14

Subtract sides -3z

10z - 3z = 3z - 3z + 14

7z = 14

Divided sides by 7

\frac{7}{7}z =  \frac{14}{7} \\

z = 2

How to solve <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=log_%7By%7D%285y%29%20%3D%202" id="TexFormula1" title="log_{y}(5y) = 2" alt="log_
Natalija [7]

Answer:

  y = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Expand the logarithm:

\log_y{(5)}+\log_y{(y)}=2\\\\\dfrac{\log{(5)}}{\log{(y)}}+1=2 \quad\text{change of base formula}\\\\\dfrac{\log{(5)}}{\log{(y)}}=1 \quad\text{subtract 1}\\\\\log{(5)}=\log{(y)} \quad\text{multiply by log(y)}\\\\5=y \quad\text{take the anti-log}

_____

You can also take the antilog first:

  5y = y²

  y(y -5) = 0 . . . . . subtract 5y, factor

  y = 0 or 5 . . . . . y=0 is not a viable solution, so y=5.

Juliette [100K]

Answer:

8x² + 6xy - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

(5x² + 4xy - 7) + (3x² + 2xy + 3) ← remove parenthesis

= 5x² + 4xy - 7 + 3x² + 2xy + 3 ← collect like terms

= 8x² + 6xy - 4
