Walt Whitman, the author of Leaves of Grass created a unique and new American poetic voice. Another Author who shared his poetic structure was Emily Dickinson.

Walt Whitman was born on May 31st 1819 in West Hills, New York, the second son of Walter Whitman, a housebuilder, and Louisa Van Velsor. He and his eight brothers lived in Brooklyn and Long Island in the 1820s and 1830s.

The first job that Whitman had was as a printer in New York City. In 1836, at the age of seventeen, he began his career as teacher in Long Island. He continued to teach until 1841.

The poem "Song of Myself" is written in Whitman's signature free verse style. Whitman, who prefers words "as simple as grass" sacrifices standard verse and stanza patterns in favor of a simple, legible style that can appeal to a mass audience

Alliteration is the conspicuous repetition of identical initial consonant sounds in successive or closely associated syllables within a group of words, even those spelled differently.

Assonance is a resemblance in the sounds of words or syllables either between their vowels or their consonants.

rhyme is a repetition of similar sounds in the final stressed syllables.

Parallelism is when there is grammar equilibrium in two or more sentences.

Having stated the former, now the answers:

Alliteration

O suns - O grass of graves - O perpetual transfers and promotions

Assonance

No doubt I have died myself ten thousand times before

Rhyme

Hous-es and rooms are full of per-fumes
