Get into y=mx+b form
m=slope

3x-5y=10
minus 3x from both sides
-5y=-3x+10
divide both sides by -5
y=-3/-5x+10/-5
y=3/5x-2
the slope is 3/5

eduard

Answer:

2

Step-by-step explanation:

perpendicular means the opposite inverse of a slope. So -1/2 will become 2/1 or simply 2.

Suppose y varies directly with x, and y = 24 when x = 8. What is the value of y when x = 10?
Solnce55 [7]
First, you want to set up a proportion.

8/24 = 10/y

Cross multiply to get

240 = 8y, then divide 8 from both sides to get y = 30.

6 sweets cost 42p altogether how much do 8 sweets cost
Eddi Din [679]
The best thing to do is to find the cost of one sweet, and to do this, divide 42 by 7.
42/7= 6
Therefore, one sweet costs 6p.
To find the cost of 8 sweets, you've got to multiply 6 by 8, and this gives you 54p.
Therefore, 8 sweets cost 54p
This is basically just finding unit rate and multiplying.
