Why did blacklisted union members have trouble finding jobs after the Pullman strike?
pentagon [3]

The correct answer is D. They were viewed by potential employers as troublemakers.

Explanation:

The Pullman strike took place in 1894 as hundreds of workers of the Pullman company created a Union, and began a strike to show their opposition to certain working conditions such as previous wage reductions and excessive control. These strikes were responded with violence and some of the protesters were even killed.

Also, after the strike ended, many workers of the union were charged for organizing and promoting the strike. Besides this, some were blacklisted, and this caused the workers to have difficulties finding new jobs as employers believed they could promote strikes in their companies, and therefore were considered troublemakers.

Why does the United States use embargoes as a tool of foreign policy?
loris [4]

Answer:

A. Cutting off all relations with a country is an effective way to show that its actions are unacceptable.

Explanation:

In trade and international politics, an embargo is the prohibition of trading and negotiating with a particular country. It is usually declared by one group of nations against another, in order to isolate it and place its government in a difficult internal situation, since the effects of the embargo often cause its economy to suffer. The embargo is normally used as a political punishment for certain prior policies with which it is not agreed, although its economic nature often leaves enough space to doubt the true interests that benefit from the measure.
