tia_tia [17]

Answer:

Stevenson is saying that when we take a bird’s-eye view, we see everything in a grand perspective. From there, much of what we humans do seems trivial or unimportant. We feel aloof from the rest of humanity, much as Apollo felt when he looked down on humans from atop Mount Olympus. Stevenson likens the man’s Apollo-like view to the pleasure he found in the northern Scottish landscape.

Stevenson used the allusion to Apollo to say that when we look at our experiences from a new perspective, we find unexpected pleasure and experience personal growth. He assumes his readers will be familiar with Apollo and the allusion to him will help them understand his new view of this landscape.

Explain what effect the repetition of the lines “Brennan on the Moor, Brennan on the Moor,
azamat

Answer:

The repetition of the line, "Brennan on the moor/Brennan on the moor/bold and undaunted stood young Brennan on the moor"

Explanation:

The repetition of the line, "Brennan on the moor/Brennan on the moor/bold and undaunted stood young Brennan on the moor" in the opening and closing stanzas call the reader to remember the name of the man in this epic-style poem as we begin and end his tragic story.

In the opening lines, the repetition is quite like a battle cry where the person spoken about is seen as our hero. As readers, we repeat his name to honor him and call forth his story.

In the closing lines, the repetition is meant to be an homage to the hero of our poem who has died.
