Think of just one company that is part of today's technological landscape.  Amazon.com reported 178 billion dollars in net sales in 2017.  If you want a product, you could go get it from a local store ... or you could order it online from the convenience of your computer (where you also access Brainly.com), and have the same product delivered to your mailbox in a couple days.  There were catalog mail order businesses in 1900, such as Montgomery Wards.  But the technological advancement of the Internet has made shopping without going to a physical store vastly easier and more efficient than the catalog order days.
