In which sentence is the underlined word an Indirect object?
schepotkina [342]

Answer: in sentence 3, the underlined phrase "the students" is an indirect object.

Explanation: an indirect object is a noun phrase referring to someone or something that is affected by the action of a transitive verb (typically as a recipient), but is not the primary object. In the first sentence, the underlined phrase is "the subjects" which is the direct object, in the second sentence the underlined phrase is "the notes" which is also the direct object, and in the third sentence the underlined phrase "the students" is an indirect object (because it represents a recipient).

Long, unbroken pages of text show authority and draw the reader into the writing
Liula [17]
As a writer and reader I disagree with this. Perhaps if you are writing for a scientific journal or business report, long blocks of text can seem like you have a lot of info. Generally speaking, especially in fiction and non fiction i think unbroken pages of text will best case scenario bore a reader, worst case scenraio burden and overwhelm  them with a lot of info so the feel daunted about continuing.
