Answer:

Part 1) The vertex is the point (-2,-4)

Part 2) The axis of symmetry is equal to x=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The equation of a vertical parabola into vertex form is equal to

y=a(x-h)^{2}+k

where

(h,k) is the vertex of the parabola

The axis of symmetry of a vertical parabola is equal to

x=h ----> the x-coordinate of the vertex

In this problem we have

y=2(x+2)^{2}-4

The vertex is the point (-2,-4)

The axis of symmetry is equal to the coordinate of the vertex

so

x=-2

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

Do you mean half an hour because if she can paint 2/3 of each section in half an hour, it would take her 3 hours to paint all 9 sections. I hope this is correct.

What is the equation of a line, in general form, that passes through the point (1, -2) and has a slope of 1/3.
slavikrds [6]
Y=1/3x+c as 1/3 is the gradient/slope
Plug in the coordinates into the equation
-2= 1/3*(1) +c
C=-2-1/3
C=-7/3
Y= 1/3x-7/3
