Well when a speaker talks about hunger, it could be taken many ways. 1 could be the desire or "hunger" to do something. 2 could be an inner hunger, like an emotional thing, like the hunger to be close to someone. my advice is to just think about all the ways someone could feel "hunger" and apply that to the speaker and how he/she is using the word in the text.
