In the short story Rules of the Game, Lindo Jong teaches her children lessons through silent disapproval. This is presented when Waverly wanted some salted plums yet because of his aggresiveness and noise, her mother ignore her request. On the other hand, when he went silent about her wants, her mother rewards him of salted plums.

The mastermind that worked with Freud was Albert Einstein, a German-born theoretical physicist that in 1931, the Institute for Intellectual Cooperation invited to a cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas about politics and peace with a thinker of his choosing. Einstein choose Sigmund Freud despite of being skeptical of psychoanalysis he came to admire Freud's work and working with him.

The realization of the book was mainly based on a series of letters were they discussed the abstract generalities of human nature and the potential concrete steps for reducing violence in the world. This entire work was published in 1933. Only 2,000 copies of the English translation were printed, most of which were lost during the World War II. But some of the correspondence are part of the 1960 volume Einstein on Peace.

Their difference comes about as a result of Marley's death and his visit as a ghost to Scrooge on Christmas Eve. Marley warns Scrooge on the consequences for not upholding human values such as Charity, Benevolence, Mercy, Forebearance, loving and caring for other, and cherishing the spirit of Christmas. He warned him that Scrooge would be doomed to wander about after he was dead but still could redeem himself with the visits of the other three ghosts of Christmas that brings about Scrooges dramatic change. His redemption is the point and purpose of the story. So Marley, his avaricious and misanthropic partner, prompts Scrooge to atone for his wicked ways, something Marley did not do before he died. Marley is doomed in his past failure for eternity while Scrooge is redeemed for eternity.
